09/05/2009: The heat setup was better than last time but was still tight on corner exit, which required Ray to slow down to turn. This allowed other cars to pass. The Feature race setup was off by quite a bit. Ray began to spinout between turns 3 and 4 and jumped the berm, which caused much front-end damage. The car was unable to continue and pitted. The plan is to race again Saturday, September 12 at JMS for the last regular season night.
08/22/2009: It was another frustrating night for the ABR team as the car pushed very hard in the heat and was very loose in the feature. The team plans to replace much of the right side body panels – a result of a turn two smash with Dwayne Pospisil, whose car came out with almost no damage - and check for bent suspension parts before next week’s race(s).
07/18/2009: Even though results for the night seem unimpressive, the AutoBaughn Racing team is extremely happy with how the car acted throughout the night. The team put on a new setup and it worked almost perfectly. Minor tweaks will be done and tested. The team is looking forward to it.
05/31/2009: The AutoBaughn Racing team’s first show at I-80 this year was definitely a challenge. The team (Ray) made setup errors that made handling the car at mid corner and exit very difficult. The team recorded its first DNF of the season.
04/25/2009: The car finally turned as it should have in entry but mid-turn and exit are still a mystery.
04/18/2009: Saturday’s racing setup was far from perfect but significantly better than Friday’s practice setup at I-80 Speedway. On paper, Saturday’s results don’t look good but the team is encouraged by the setup, knowledge, and seat time gains. The team will make additional changes to the setup and try again.
04/08/2009: The AutoBaughn Racing team is set to practice April 9 at I-80 Speedway in preparation for the first (NASCAR) race Saturday, April 11, also at I-80 Speedway. Gentlemen, start your engines!
01/08/2009: Ray and Clark attended a MasterSbilt (www.MasterSbilt.com) seminar in Seymour and Crothersville , Indiana . They got to meet and talk with many knowledgeable people – Keith and “Tader” Masters, Ronnie Stuckey, Ray Cook, and several more. Ray and Clark asked many questions, took lots of notes, and made several contacts with other racers from around the country. The AutoBaughn Racing team is eager to apply what they learned.
