*DNR - 05/31/2008: Due to the death of Ray's brother, Steve, the ABR team did not race. Steve was killed in a motorcycle accident on May 26. He was 38 years old and has two sons.

05/25/2008: The car ran well in hot laps and was scheduled to run in the second heat of the IMCA Crate Late Models. When it was time to line-up for the race, the car didn’t start as there was a problem (we think) with the starter and fly-wheel. Shortly after being pushed back to the pit area, a tornado like storm blew through and shut down the races. They have been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 2. The ABR team is planning to take apart the tranny, bell housing, and starter to see what the problem is. We hope to find the right gear ratio in time for Saturday’s (05/31/2008) race at Junction Motor Speedway.

05/17/2008: AutoBaughn Racing (ABR) had a mixed evening at Junction Motor Speedway (JMS) Saturday night. The gear ratio was not appropriate for the track. This translated into low RPMs and speed. Also, the steering did crazy things such as ‘swimming’ and jerking left along the straight-aways; both of which required Ray to slow down and gain control. Even so, Ray got decent seat time (practice). In the end, Ray placed 11th in the feature and learned a few things to help setup the car next time.

02/20/2008: The car is completely dismantled to the bare chassis. It was recently sandblasted in preparation for reinforcement ‘upgrades’ supplied by MasterSBilt (www.MasterSBilt.com). The chassis will be taken to the powder coater ASAP and each part will be thoroughly cleaned and tested before assembling to the car.
